Designed for school administrators and instructional leaders, this course is an introduction to using information and computer technology (ICT) for teaching and learning in K-12 classrooms. Topics emphasize building a balanced case for technology use, strategies for technology integration, and creating conditions that promote the use of technology for learning.


Using Multimedia for Effective Communication [1 unit] [LINC080A01]

This multimedia production course is designed for educators and provides an introduction to visual design principles, visualization techniques, and theories used to communicate complex verbal and visual information. Participants will use a variety of multimedia tools to design, develop, and produce visual materials, such as presentations, documents, and reports that follow sound principles of graphic design and instructional message design.

Microsoft Excel and Google Spreadsheets are powerful spreadsheet applications that can support school administrators’ collaboration to establish metrics, collect and analyze data, interpret results, and share findings to improve staff performance and student learning. Additional uses include tracking expenditures, budget development, meeting planning, and parent communication.

Registration fees at Foothill College are $30 per quarter and $17 per unit (subject to change).

*Santa Clara County public school educators are eligible for scholarships covering up to 50% of the cost
